The State of Global Mini-Grids Market Report, 2020 reveals that in Sub-Saharan Africa, 57 percent of the total population did not have access to electricity at the end of 2018, an improvement from 69 percent in 2010 due to grid extension as well as deployment of off-grid solar kits. However, a greater percentage do not have access to electricity. Mini-grids make a great contribution to the fight for #EnergyAccess, but the question remains: can we achieve universal access by 2030 given the continued population increase? #SGD7
